Fall Transition Fits: Dressing for 5°C Mornings and 18°C Afternoons
You leave the house in a hoodie and freeze. By 1 p.m. you're sweating in it. Fall is the season where one outfit has to cover two climates. Good news: streetwear was basically built for this.
The three-layer rule (that comes apart)
Base layer: a cotton tee or longsleeve. Mid layer: an open flannel, a crewneck or a light zip hoodie. Outer layer: a coach jacket, windbreaker or overshirt. The trick is that every layer has to work on its own. Take the jacket off at lunch and you should still have a complete fit, not "whatever was underneath".
Stick to a fall palette
Olive, brown, cream, navy. Pick two main colours and one accent. Brown cargos, a cream crewneck and an olive jacket, for example. Everything matches everything, so whatever you take off, the look still holds together.
Shoes and accessories
Swap white sneakers for darker suede or leather pairs. They handle wet pavements and look seasonal. A beanie is the cheapest way to warm up a fit in the morning and stash it in your pocket by noon. A crossbody bag carries the layer you don't need right now.
The short version
Three layers, two colours, one solid pair of shoes. You'll find fall pieces to build it from at DOPESTORE.
