Home Cardio Without a Treadmill: 20 Minutes, Zero Gear
A treadmill swallows half a room, costs like a used car, and after three months it usually ends up holding laundry. Meanwhile, the cardio that actually moves your fitness needs a patch of floor and a timer.
Intervals beat steady plodding
Forty minutes at one pace is comfortable, and your body adapts to comfortable fast. Eight minutes of alternating 30 seconds all-out with 30 seconds of marching in place will push your heart rate higher than half an hour of walking uphill on a belt. Start with three rounds and add one round a week.
Build a five-move circuit
Squats, mountain climbers, squat jumps, shadow boxing, high knees. Forty seconds each, twenty seconds rest between them, one full minute after the fifth move. Three rounds and you're done in twenty minutes, properly soaked.
How you know it's working
The simplest metric is your resting heart rate, measured in bed before you get up. After four honest weeks it usually drops three to eight beats. The second one: three flights of stairs without gasping at the top.
Plan the week ahead and log your rounds — GymHome tracks progression so you don't repeat the same three rounds forever.
