Instagram Shadowban: How to Spot It and How to Get Out

Phone with the Instagram app open

Yesterday 3,000 views, today 400. No warning, no email. That's a shadowban – Instagram quietly stops showing your content to people who don't follow you.

Check it in 2 minutes

1. Go to Settings → Account Status. Instagram shows whether your content is "eligible to be recommended".

2. Ask a friend who doesn't follow you to search a hashtag you just used. If your post isn't there, you've got a problem.

3. In Insights, compare the share of "non-followers" across your last 5 posts. Dropping below 10% is a red flag.

What usually triggers it

- Banned or "broken" hashtags (check every one you keep reusing).

- The same 30 hashtags under every single post.

- Mass liking, follow/unfollow, and automated comments.

- Reposted videos with someone else's watermark (a TikTok logo is a near-guaranteed drop).

How to get out

Stop all automation for 48 hours. Remove problem hashtags from old posts and file an appeal in Account Status. Then post original content, use 3–5 relevant hashtags, and reply to comments. Most accounts recover within 7–14 days.

Once reach comes back, a strong start for each post helps. KupSledujici offers services that help you get those first interactions – just always pair them with content worth watching.
